We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Cataloging Specialist to join our team. The Cataloging Specialist will be responsible for organizing, categorizing, and maintaining accurate records of our organization’s inventory, resources, or products. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in cataloging systems and software.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the cataloging process for all incoming inventory, resources, or products. This includes accurately entering item details such as title, description, specifications, and relevant metadata into the cataloging system.
- Classify items based on predetermined categories and standards. Ensure consistency and accuracy in categorizing items to facilitate easy retrieval and organization.
- Maintain data integrity by regularly auditing and updating cataloged items. Identify and rectify any discrepancies or inaccuracies in item descriptions, metadata, or classification.
- Oversee the maintenance and optimization of the cataloging system. Collaborate with IT or software vendors to troubleshoot technical issues, implement updates, and improve system functionality as needed.
- Conduct quality checks on cataloged items to ensure adherence to cataloging standards and guidelines. Verify the accuracy of information, including item descriptions, specifications, and metadata.
- Collaborate with various departments, such as procurement, inventory management, and marketing, to gather relevant information and ensure consistency in cataloging practices across the organization.
- Develop training materials and provide guidance to staff members on cataloging procedures and best practices. Create documentation outlining cataloging standards, guidelines, and workflows.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to cataloging and metadata management.
Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
Qualification: Graduate in any discipline
Experience: 2 to 3 year
